Meaning & history of the Venezuela flag
Venezuela's flag has yellow, blue and red horizontal bands with an arc of eight white stars on the blue, and the coat of arms in the upper hoist on the state version. It uses the colours of liberator Francisco de Miranda: yellow for the land's wealth, blue for the sea separating it from Spain, and red for the blood of independence. An eighth star was added in 2006.
