Meaning & history of the Ecuador flag
Ecuador's flag has a broad yellow band over blue and red, with the coat of arms centred on the state flag. Like Colombia and Venezuela it uses the colours of Gran Colombia: yellow for the land's fertility and wealth, blue for the sea and sky, red for the blood of independence heroes. The arms feature a condor and the volcano Chimborazo.
