Meaning & history of the Thailand flag
Thailand's flag, the Trairanga, has five horizontal bands of red, white, blue, white and red, the central blue band being double height. Red represents the nation and the blood of life, white purity and the Buddhist religion, and the central blue the monarchy — also chosen as a gesture of solidarity with the Allies in the First World War. It dates to 1917.
