Meaning & history of the Hungary flag
Hungary's flag is a horizontal tricolour of red, white and green. In the traditional interpretation, red stands for strength and the blood shed in the nation's struggles, white for faithfulness and freedom, and green for hope and the land. The colours appear in Hungarian heraldry from the Middle Ages and were fixed as the national flag in 1848.
