Meaning & history of the China flag
China's flag is red with five golden stars in the upper hoist — one large star and four smaller ones arranged in an arc. Red symbolises the communist revolution and, traditionally, good fortune. The large star represents the Communist Party, and the four smaller stars the broad classes of Chinese society united under its leadership. It was adopted in 1949.
