South Korea's flag, the Taegukgi, is white bearing a central red-and-blue taegeuk (yin-yang) circle surrounded by four black trigrams. White represents peace and purity. The taegeuk symbolises cosmic balance and harmony, and the four trigrams stand for heaven, earth, water and fire — universal principles of balance and change drawn from the I Ching.
