Meaning & history of the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines flag

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines' flag has vertical bands of blue, gold and green, with three green diamonds arranged in a V on the central gold band. Blue represents the sky and sea, gold the warmth and bright spirit of the people, and green the lush vegetation. The diamonds — the 'Gems of the Antilles' — form a V for Vincent. It was adopted in 1985.
