Nepal's flag is the world's only non-rectangular national flag, formed of two stacked crimson pennants edged in blue. The crimson is the national colour and the rhododendron, blue the border of peace. The upper pennant bears a white moon and the lower a white sun, expressing the hope that the nation will endure as long as the sun and moon.
