Meaning & history of the Myanmar flag

Myanmar's flag has yellow, green and red horizontal bands with a large white five-pointed star centred. Yellow represents solidarity, green peace, tranquillity and the country's lush greenery, and red courage and decisiveness. The white star stands for the unity and integrity of the union. This design was adopted in 2010, replacing the earlier socialist-era flag.
