Micronesia's flag is light blue with four white five-pointed stars arranged in a diamond. The blue represents the Pacific Ocean, and the four stars the four states of the federation — Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei and Kosrae. Adopted in 1978, its calm blue-and-white palette echoes that of several Pacific and UN-associated flags.
