Meaning & history of the Liechtenstein flag

Liechtenstein's flag has blue over red horizontal bands with a gold crown in the upper hoist. Blue represents the sky and red the glowing evening fires of the land. The crown, added in 1937, represents the princely house and distinguished the flag from Haiti's, whose near-identical design had been noticed at the Berlin Olympics.
