Meaning & history of the Kosovo flag

Kosovo's flag is blue with a golden map of the territory below six white stars. The six stars represent the country's main ethnic groups — Albanians, Serbs, Turks, Gorani, Roma and Bosniaks — signalling multi-ethnic unity. Adopted in 2008 at the declaration of independence, its deliberately neutral, map-based design avoids the symbols of any single group.
