Guyana's flag, the 'Golden Arrowhead', has a green field with a long golden triangle edged in white pointing to the fly, and a red triangle edged in black at the hoist. Green is the forests and agriculture, gold the mineral wealth, white the rivers, red the zeal of nation-building, and black the endurance of the people. It was designed for independence in 1966.
