Meaning & history of the Argentina flag
Argentina's flag has three horizontal bands — light blue, white, light blue — with a golden Sun of May centred. The sky-blue and white were adopted by independence leader Manuel Belgrano in 1812. The Sun of May, a radiant face, commemorates the May Revolution of 1810 and appears on several flags of former Spanish South America.
