Tajikistan's flag has red, white and green horizontal bands, the white being the widest, with a golden crown beneath an arc of seven stars centred. Red represents the state and victory, white the cotton and snow-capped mountains, and green the fertile valleys. The crown and seven stars symbolise the Tajik people, whose folklore holds seven to be a number of perfection.
