Jordan's flag has black, white and green horizontal bands with a red triangle at the hoist bearing a white seven-pointed star. The black, white and green recall the Abbasid, Umayyad and Fatimid caliphates, and the red triangle the Hashemite dynasty and the Great Arab Revolt. The star's seven points stand for the seven verses of the Quran's opening chapter.
