Honduras's flag has two blue bands framing a white centre bearing five blue stars. Blue represents the Pacific and Caribbean and the sky, and white peace and prosperity. The five stars, added in 1866, represent the five nations of the former Federal Republic of Central America and the hope that the union might one day be restored.
