Bangladesh's flag is a red disc slightly offset toward the hoist on a dark green field. The green represents the lush landscape and the vitality of youth, while the red disc symbolises the sun rising over Bengal and the blood of those who died in the 1971 Liberation War. The disc is set off-centre so it appears centred when the flag flies.
